SkyEdge at the Wawer Balloon Fiesta

6 June 2026 · Plaża Romantyczna, Warsaw

Hot-air balloons draw the eye upwards. For SkyEdge, the Wawer Balloon Fiesta was an opportunity to introduce another balloon story: cameras, radio links and experiments in the stratosphere - at the edge of space.

We took part as an exhibitor at Plaża Romantyczna in Warsaw on 6 June 2026. Events like this bring ballooning and the people behind it into the same place. Our part of that world is the stratospheric mission: a lightweight payload, its cameras and instruments, and the team following the flight from the ground.

From an introduction to a real flight

The best way to explain our work is to show a complete mission. Two weeks earlier, NSL-45 with AstroLife had reached around 31 km. One week after the Fiesta, the Science Picnic mission with MASR reached 38,153 m and transmitted HD video. Both stories now include photographs, recordings and flight data.
